Pump your metabolic rate & burn more calories every day!

Ok folks, everyone is obsessed with losing weight.  If you already go to the gym everyday, or 4-5 days/week, this post is not for you!  But if you are like thousands of people who is not into working out a lot, but still wants to feel better, look better and lose some unwanted pounds, then this post is for YOU!

The best to burn more calories (energy off your body) is to increase your metabolic rate (the rate at which your body burns energy).  You can do this via exercise, but as we already assumed, you hate that right?  Sure, we all want to look like Terrel Owens or Kobe Bryant, but we don't want to do the work to get there.  My proposal to you is this, and yes, it involves a bit of exercise, but only in burst of 30 seconds a few times per day!

Yes, it's that easy.  If you do short burst of exercise for 30 seconds a few times per day, YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT!.

Find 3-5 exercises that you think you can do in your work clothes.  I like push ups, crunches and air squats (squats with no weights).  Every hour or every other hour take a 30 second break and bust out a set of push ups for 30 seconds (or 60 seconds if you like).  What you'll notice is that you'll get your heart pumping and your muscles burning.  After that, get back to doing what you were doing.

That 30 seconds of work, will get your body:

  • stronger
  • sustain an increased metabolic rate for much longer than 30 seconds
  • more energy
  • and all the benefits that come along with exercise: increased mental acuity, increased proprioception, increased blood flow, increased respiratory capacity, etc.

If you do this 5 times per day, that's a total of 2.5 minutes per day!  Try it, see what 2.5 minutes per day does to you! Do this for one week, then, report back on our blog!  I dare you!

Here is the math ( I just did 28 push up in 30 seconds) so lets round it down to 25 in 30.  If you do this 5 times per day, that equals to 125 push ups per day, or 875/week.  Do you think this might help? You bet.  Switch it up if you can. Go from push ups to crunches, to squats or what ever you like.

Now, we haven't even talked about NUTRITION. That's a huge component in weight loss (99%). But even without changing your diet, just adding 2.5 minutes per day will help.
